About

Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, I’ve had the privilege of living and learning in various countries, including Venezuela, the United States, and Canada. This unique journey has fostered my love for diverse cultures and ignited a deep desire for exploration and knowledge acquisition. Traveling and engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds is my passion. My interests span Augmented Reality, Serious Games, Design, Interactive Media, 2D and 3D Art, Animation, Education, and Technology. I flourish in environments that demand diligence, teamwork, and a constant hunger for learning, relishing every opportunity to tackle fresh challenges head-on.

My BA is in Design and MA in Education from the University of Madeira. I furthered my education with an MA in Entertainment Technology from Carnegie Mellon University. With a background as an art and computer science teacher, I leveraged my expertise in Art, Human-Computer Interaction and Digital Media to create educational games for students at the Regional Secretariat of Education. I also have a Ph.D. in Digital Media / Technology from Nova Lisbon University. 

My ongoing research focuses on the utilization of cross-reality (AR/VR/MR) technology and game design principles to develop Serious Games tailored for children. My Ph.D. research focuses on Augmented Reality Serious Games Towards Introducing And Promoting Chemistry to Preteens.
